Questions, answered
Everything people ask before starting a registry.
Is the baby registry free?
Yes — creating a registry, sharing it, and claiming gifts are all free. When gift-givers buy through links on a registry, the store may pay us a small commission at no cost to them.
Can I add items from any store?
Yes. Paste a product link from any store — Amazon, Target, a small boutique — and it goes on your list. You can also start from our curated starter lists of essentials.
Do my friends and family need an account?
No. Gift-givers just open your registry link, tap "I'll buy this" on a gift, and they're taken to the store to buy it. The item is marked claimed automatically.
How does the registry prevent duplicate gifts?
When someone claims an item it's marked for everyone else, and claims are counted transactionally — even two people clicking at the same moment can't both claim the last one. If someone changes their mind, they can undo and the item opens back up.
Can I register for more than one of something?
Yes — set a quantity on any item (crib sheets, bottles), and the registry tracks how many are still needed as claims come in.
Who can see my registry?
Anyone you share the link with. Registry pages aren't listed in search engines, and only you can edit the list.
